What FAITH can do?

faith and hope

I am not sure if faith can move mountains or not. But I think faith is the fuel that keeps us alive and kicking. It's an essential part of our lives.

But what faith actually is? Faith is believing that IT WILL HAPPEN even if there is no chance of happening of it. Faith is believing in your own dreams, believing in your capabilities, believing in yourself when no one else does. Faith is standing in the middle of a storm and picturing better days.

Sometimes you may need to risk it all in order to achieve a dream no one can see but only you. For that, you need an unshakable faith and desire.

"If patience is worth anything, it must endure to the end of time. And a living faith will last in the midst of the blackest storm."
-Mahatma Gandhi

Faith may not make things easy but it will definitely make things look possible. And once you come to know that you can do it, no one can stop you from doing it.

Let's see such kind of a story about faith and hope.

Once there were three trees deep in the forest. They were talking about their hopes and dreams. The first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. So I could be filled with a lot of gold, gems and precious diamonds. Then I can be the most precious chest ever crafted."

The second tree said, "Someday I will become a mighty ship. I will rule the vast ocean and will sail through the greatest storms without any fear. I will become the strongest ship humankind ever known."

Finally, the third tree said, "I dream to become the tallest tree in the forest. I will be so tall that people will think that I am so close to heaven and God. I will be remembered for generations.

After a few years later, a group of woodsman came upon the trees. Looking at the first tree, he said, "This seems to be a strong tree, I can sell the wood to a carpenter." He started cutting the first tree. The tree was happy because he knew that the carpenter will craft a beautiful chest out of it.

At the second tree, the woodsman said, "This too looks a strong and big tree. I definitely can sell the wood to the shipyard." The second tree became happy thinking of how mighty and the great ship will he become.

The woodsman then came to the third tree. The tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down, his dream will never become true. But unfortunately, the third tree was also cut down into large pieces and was left alone in the dark.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenter, he was made into a feed box for animals and was placed in a barn, filled with hay.

The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat.

All three trees met a different fate than they were expecting and dreaming.

"If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practised, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we would have vanished."
- Swami Vivekananda

The years went by, and the dreams fed away. Then one day, a man and women came to the barn. She gave birth to a baby in the hay in the feed box. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. But the tree made it out of the storm without any harm. The tree then came to know that he is the strongest boat that can weather any storm.

Finally, someone came and picked up the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. A few days later the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things start becoming difficult, keep faith in God as well as in yourself. The Almighty has a plan for you. Even if you have given up on yourself, God did not. Things will become better. Just let the time pass. Let the storm know-how firm and strong you are. How strong your faith is.

When a father swings his baby in the air, the baby does not cry or fear but rather laughs. Because the baby has faith in the father. Keep the same amount of faith and you will see miracles happen.
