Impossible is Nothing: Embracing the Challenge of the Unseen
Introduction
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ― Muhammad Ali
This quote from Muhammad Ali captures the essence of the word 'impossible'. It's a reflection of how people with low self-esteem tend to cling to their comfort zones, denying themselves the opportunity to explore other paths that might lead to greater success.
The Limitations of Impressions and Beliefs
Many people measure everything by their own impressions and beliefs, which can be a significant limitation. When you assume that something can only be done in a particular way, you restrict your potential and capabilities. You're essentially saying that it's impossible to achieve it any other way, thereby closing the door on countless possibilities.
Have you ever watched the movie The Pursuit of Happyness? Some lines in that movie are incredibly powerful:
"Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period."
Reevaluating 'Impossible'
The word 'impossible' is often used by individuals who have not yet discovered their own potential. If something seems impossible to you, it doesn't mean it will be impossible for others. Just because you don't have the courage to pursue it doesn't mean others lack that same courage. People will always find a way, regardless of their opinions, excuses, or limitations.
'Impossible' is a word used by the weak to justify their inaction. But deep down, we know we could have done it. Instead of regretting it later, give it a try. What could possibly happen? You might fail. But remember, FAILING IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN REGRETTING.
"No one gets very far unless he accomplishes the impossible at least once a day." – Elbert Hubbard
The Reality of 'Impossible'
The things you think are impossible are already being done by someone else right now! It's because they refuse to accept impossibility as a fact.
- If Henry Ford had believed it was impossible to build affordable, reliable cars, the automotive revolution might never have happened.
- If the Wright brothers had accepted that human flight was impossible, we might still be dreaming about it.
- If Karoly Takacs had thought it was impossible to win an Olympic medal without his hand, he wouldn't have made history.
Here's Karoly Takacs' incredible story: Karoly Takacs, a Hungarian soldier and athlete, lost his right hand due to a grenade explosion. Instead of giving up, he taught himself to shoot with his left hand. Against all odds, he won two Olympic gold medals in shooting.
"The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible." - Arthur C. Clarke
Countless Examples of the Impossible Becoming Possible
History is filled with examples of the impossible becoming possible. Dreams become reality. Rejection turns into acceptance.
So, what is your excuse? Is impossible a fact, or is it just an opinion to you?
